Sea Sovereign Thomas serves as a Board Director at the Institute for Global Maritime Studies. Born and raised on the island of Maui, Hawaii, Sea is a U.S. Marine intelligence officer currently assigned to the U.S. Pacific Command. He served in the First Marine Aircraft Wing in Okinawa, Japan and was a Naval ROTC instructor at the College of the Holy Cross, where he taught leadership and military history and was recognized with the “Colonel Leo A. Codd Award” as the top Marine instructor in the country in 2008.

A distinguished graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Sea was the top graduate of both his intelligence career courses and his Naval Command and Staff College class. He received a M.A.L.D. in International Relations from the Fletcher School and an M.A. in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, where he graduated with highest distinction.
