Daniel Brutlag serves as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Global Maritime Studies. He is also Senior Analyst at CargoMetrics. He earned a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he is an East Asian Legal Studies Center Scholar, a M.A.L.D. concentrating in international trade and Pacific Asia from the Fletcher School, and a B.A. from the honors program from St. John’s University. He served for two years as Contributing Editor to the Journal of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and worked as a legal researcher for cases arbitrated at the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). In 2006, he sailed around the world on the Semester at Sea program.
